Samsung Galaxy S8 codenamed Dream, may launch earlier than expected

samsung has been down and out lately. The South Korean company, that hit bull's eye with its new batch of Galaxy S phones, and quickly followed them up with an even better Note phablet -- well, it did for some time before going kaput -- is clearly in disarray. It comes as no surprise then that the company must be looking to make a comeback ASAP. To do that, it is looking up to its next batch of Galaxy S phones, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus.
The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Plus are not that old yet, and already there's growing chit-chatter around the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. The biggest of them all, perhaps, is that Samsung may announce the S8 and the S8 Plus early next year. The company, usually, does that a week ahead of the Mobile World Congress, which already, is like 'very' early in the tech world.
Moving on, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus have been codenamed Dream and Dream 2. The two are further said to carry a model number: SM-G950 and SM-G955 respectively.
Previously there have been rumours that Samsung may ditch the flat panel design concept altogether in the next Galaxy S phones. The S8 and the S8 Plus will reportedly offer the same dual curve design as the one on the Galaxy Note 7.
Rumour mills  are also suggesting that Samsung may kill the 3.5mm audio jack like Apple did in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The S8 and S8 Plus will reportedly come with a single port, however, chances of that being a regular USB Type-C are slim. Samsung is being said to be working on its own standard for the purpose. To recall, even Apple used it's own standard lightning port in its iPhones.
That is all that there is to the S8 and S8 Plus rumours for now. Hopefully, more will come in the days to come.
